September 2025
Dear Friends,
We hope the Lord is blessing each of you. We want to give you a brief update on the ministry and our family.
The two new churches we are founding, in towns of Rengo and San Francisco de Mostazal, are moving forward. For now, we continue to have Wednesday night services, but we hope to begin Sunday meetings in the coming months. In both places, we have been reaching new families, and thanks to the Lord, there is now a foundation on which we can continue to grow. We thank the Lord for the families of the mother church in Rancagua, who are helping each week in this ministry.
Last August, the month in which Children's Day is celebrated here in Chile, we held a large evangelistic event called "Children and Family Day." For this, we rented a large space at the Evangelical Cathedral of Rancagua, where we rented games, costumes, bought hot dogs, candy, and had many surprises. We advertised extensively, and thank the Lord, more than 250 people attended, many of whom were attending an activity at our church for the first time. Many people made decisions for Christ, and we made excellent contacts to continue inviting them to our services and activities. It was wonderful to see 50 members of the church involved, serving and helping us with this activity.
We want to ask you to pray for us, as a series of setbacks have been occurring in the last few days leading up to our planned furlough to the United States on September 24th. First Alejandro's mother passed away Friday, September 12, in the evening, at age 93. Lilia was the first to come to know Christ in Alejandro’s family on May 18, 1976, and she left behind an enormous legacy of service and faithfulness to the Lord. The day after my mother's death, our vehicle was stolen as we left the cemetery. Although the insurance company found it, several parts were stolen, and it is currently in the auto repair shop. Then, on Sunday the 14th, our son Andres fell ill with hand-foot-and-mouth disease. This Monday, I (Alejandro) had a very important medical appointment and I’m waiting for four biopsies from an endoscopy that didn't go well. Finally, our son's Chilean passport and ID card, which were being renewed in Chile never arrived. Despite requesting them a few months ago, we cannot leave without them. We have gone to the Civil Registry office every day to request them, and unfortunately, they still haven't arrived, and the worst part is that there is no guarantee of when they will be ready.
For now, we're changing the dates for our planned trip to the US. We were originally scheduled to leave tomorrow, but we've moved it to mid-October, hoping Andres's documents will arrive by then.
Since this was a short 3-month furlough, we had planned to visit mostly family and a few churches in the area. Unfortunately, we'll have to cancel some meetings in churches that we had scheduled. We apologize, but this is beyond our control. We don't understand why all this is happening, but we trust that the Lord has a purpose.
As you can see, we've had one thing after another. If you could pray for us, we would appreciate it!
Thank you for your prayers and support. We will keep you updated.
Love,
Alejandro & Robyn Armijo
